THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
The City Council of the City of Ukiah convened in regular sessi,.)n
as required by law, to canvass the ballots cast at the General
Municipal Election held on April 14, 1964. The meeting was
called to order at 8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers with Mayor
Runkel, Councilman Wagner, Banker and Smalley present. Council-
man Buxton was absent.
CANVASS OF VOTES
The Tally Lists from the eight precinct boards were checked
by the Council and all were found to be correct.

DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION
WHEREAS, it appears that Notice of Election was duly
and legally given, that voting precincts were properly es-
tablished, that Election Officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election
was held and conducted and the votes cast at said election
received and canvassed, and the returns thereof made, determined,
and declared in time, form and manner as required by the laws
of the State of California providing for and regulating Municipal
Elections in cities of the General Law Class, and

That said General Municipal Election was held and
conducted in the City of Ukiah on Tuesday, April, 14, 1964,
in time, form and manner prescribed by law;
That there were eight (8) voting precincts established
in said City for the purpose of holding said election as follows:
Voting Precinct "A" compri sing Precinct No. one;
Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" compri sing Precincts
Nos. two and seven; Consolidated Voting Precinct "C"
compri sing Precincts Nos. three, four and nine; Consolidated
Voting Precinct "D" comprising Precincts Nos. five, six
and eight; Consolidated Voting Precinct "E" comprising
Precincts Nos. thirteen, fourteen and fifteen; Con-
solidated Voting Precinct "F" comprising Precincts
Nos. ten, eleven and twelve; Consolidated Voting
Precinct "G" compri sing Precincts Nos. sixteen, seventeen
and eighteen; Consolidated Voting Precinct "H" comprising
Precincts Nos. nineteen and twenty.

ELECTION OF MAYOR
On a motion by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Councilman
Norgard, Councilman Banker was nominated and unanimously
elected as Mayor for the term of one year beginning April
21,
1964.
EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION TO
OUTGOING MAYOR RUNKEL
On behalf of the Counci l,
to outgoing Mayor Runkel
the past year as Mayor of
Mayor Banker expressed appreciation
for the fine job he has done during
the C i ty.
At this point, Mr. Runkel expressed his pleasure in having had
the opportunity of serving as a member of the City Council
for the past twelve years and gave a brief history of events
occurring during that time.
EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION TO
RETIRING COUNCILMAN WAGNER
Mayor Banker expresses his appreciation for becoming acquainted
and working wi th Councilman Roy Wagner and stated that Mr. Wagner
had contributed substantially to the Council and would be missed
in the future.
ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEMPORE
On a motion by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Councilman
Scotto, Councilman Buxton was nominated and unanimously elected
Mayor Pro Tempore for the term of one year beginning April
2l, 1964.
