HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin 12-29-64MINUTES OF THE ADdOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH - DECEMBER 29, 1964 The City Council convened in adjourned session in the Council Chambers at 9:O1 A.M. with Mayor Banker, Councilmen Buxton, Scotto, and Harlowe present. Councilman Norgard was absent. ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 565 (SPECIAL ELECTION - SALE OF MUNICIPAL GAS SYSTEM) On a motion by Council Scotto, seconded by Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried by the following roll call vote Ordinance No. 565 be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be author- ized to sign same, "An Ordinance Of The City Of Ukiah, California, Calling And Providing For And Giving Notice Of A Special Election To Be Held In The City Of Ukiah, California, On The 2d Day Of February, 1965, For The Purpose Of Submitting To The 0.ualified Voters Of Said City A Proposition Whether Or Not A Public Utility Of The City Of Ukiah, To-Wit: The Municipal Propane Gas Sytem, Should Be Sold; Said Ordinance To Be Effective Immediately Upon Adopt ion." AYES: Councilman Buxton, Scotto, Harlowe, and Mayor Banker. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilman Norgard. RESOLUTION NO. 65-31 HIGHWAY lO1 On a motion by Councilman Buxton, seconded by Councilman Scotto, it was unaninously carried by the following roll call vote Resolution No. 65-31 be adopted, and the Mayor and Clerk be author- ized to sign same, "Resolution Of The City Of Ukiah, California, Urging Inclusion Of Highway 101 Into The Federal Interstate Highway System." AYES: Councilmen Buxton, Scotto, Harlowe, and Mayor Banker. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilman Norgard. SPECIAL WARRANT On a motion by Councilman Buxton, seconded by Councilman Scotto, it was unanimously carried special warrant in the amount of $400.00 be approved and ordered paid. AWARD OF BID FOR PETROLEU~ PRODUCTS - 1965 Tabulation of bids received December 22, 1964, for petroleum products requirements during 1965 were reviewed with the City Manager rdcommending rejection of all bids for motor oil due to an error in the specifications on which the bidders quoted. He further recommended that Wilshire Oil Company be awarded the bid for the other products as follows: Regular Gasoline Ethyl Gasoline Universal Gear Oil Diesel Fuel $.21 .245 .1275 .123 On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried all bids for motor oil be rejected. On a motion by Councilman Harlowe, seconded by Councilman Scotto, it was unanimously carried bids for 1965 petroleum products re- quirements be awarded to Wilshire Oil Company for furnishing regular gasoline, ethyl gasoline, universal gear oil, and diesel fuel, contingent upon the receipt of a letter from Wilshire Oil Company stating that gasoline prices include state tax and exclude state tax and exclude federal tax. MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF UKIAH - DECEMBER 29, 1964 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY COUNCILMAN BUXTON Councilman Buxton commended the City crews on their handling of the recent emergency flood problems. The City Council concurred and the City Attorney was directed to prepare a formal resolution of commendation. MAYOR BANKER Mayor Banker announced this as being his last official meeting as Mayor and thanked the Council for their assistance in his work and indicated his pleasure in working with the Council. He pledged his further cooperation as a member of the Board of Supervisors. ADJOURNMENT As there was no further regular business, Mayor Banker declared the meeting adjourned at 9:19 A M ATTEST: CITY CLERK
