COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKiAH The City Council convened in regular session in the Council Chambers at 8:00 P.M. with Vice Mayor Buxton, Councilmen Scotto and Harlowe present. Councilman Norgard was absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried the minutes of the regular meeting of December 23, 1964 be approved as corrected, and the adjourned meeting of December 29, 1964 be approved as submitted by the Deputy Clerk. PAYROLL WARRANTS .... On a motion by Councilman Harlowe, Scotto, it was unanimously carried period of December 16th through 31, amount of $32,945.23. seconded by Councilman payroll warrants for the 1964 be approved in the SPECIAL WARRANTS On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried special warrants in the amount of $5,272.92 and $81.O0 be approved and ordered paid. PUBLI REQUE OF SU C HEARING ON SUBDIVIDERS' ST TO WITHDRAW FINAL MAP NRISE TERRACE SUBDIVISION Public hearing was declared open by Vice Mayor Buxton at 8:02 P.M. on the subdividers' request to withdraw the Final Map of Sunrise Terrace Subdivision and the subdividers' surety deposited with the City for completion of required improvements. The Council was informed that prior to recordation of the Final Map it was learned that a portion of property on Eastlick Street presume to be dedicated was not at this time owned by the sub- dividers. The map has been returned to the City Engineer un- recorded. The Subdividers, Mssrso Clay Duncan and Les Ryan, were present on behalf of the request and were represented by Attorney John Golden. Mr. and Mrs. John Finnegan of 12 N. Court St. were present in opposition to the withdrawal of the subdivision as requested. After di Counc i 1 Subd i vi s scussion, a motion by Councilman Scotto that the City rescind all action taken with respect to Sunrise Terrace ion died for lack of a second. On a mot i t was u request Subdivis ion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, nanimously carried that consideration of the subdividers' for withdrawal of the Final Map of Sunrise Terrace ion be continued until the next meeting on January 13, 1965. PUBLIC HEARING NO. 65-1 (GOBBI ON ANNEXATION ST. SUBSTATION) Public hearing was declared open by Vice'Mayor Buxton at 8:52 PM. on proposed Annexation No. 65-1 which consists of the City owned Gobbi St. Substation property, and a portion of State owned property. There were no persons present in the audience requesting to be heard on the matter. MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH JANUARY 6, 1965 - PAGE 2 The Council was informed that in fixing the date for the hearing it had been inadvertently scheduled too early, and the City Attorney requested continuance of the hearing for one week until the meeting of January 13, 1965. On a motion by Councilman Scctto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried the public hearing on proposed Annexation No. 65-1 be continued until 8:00 P.M. January 13, 1965, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. RES. NO. 65-32 COMMENDING CITY PERSONNEL FOR THEIR EFFORTS DURING RECENT STORMS. On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried Resolution No. 65-32 be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "Resolution Commending City Personnel For Their Efforts During Recent Storms." RES. NO. 65-33 ESTABLISHING CONSOLIDATED VOTING PRECINCTS FOR SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, ETC. On a motion by Councilman Harlowe, seconded by Councilman Scotto, i't was unanimously carried Resolution No. 65-33 be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "Resolution Establishing Consolidated Voting Precincts For Special Municipal Election, Consisting Of Regular And Consolidated Voting Precincts, Fixing Polling Places Therefor And Hours Polls Will Be Open, And Appointing Election Officers And Fixing Compensation Thereof." RES. NO. 65-34 AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 64-33 (EXTENSION OF TIME UNDER VARIANCE NO 64-10 GEORGE M. MANN and/or NOYO THEATRES, INC.) On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried Resolution No. 65-34 be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "Resolution Amending Resolution No. 64-33 (Extension of Time For Completion Of Construction Under Variance No. 64-10 George M. Mann and/or Noyo Theatres, Inc.)" CITIZENS' COMMITTEE FOR NATURAL GAS The City Manager reviewed the reports which would be sent by the Citizens Committee For Natural Gas in Ukiah to all residents of the City. The reports contained a general review of the proposition itself and the benefits to individuals, the City, other governmental agencies and the general area. It was also reported that cards would be distributed with the material requesting individuals to sign as supporters of the entire program. NO. BAY LEAGUE OF CALIF. CITIES MEETING - SAN RAFAEL, JAN. 23, 1965 The City Manager distributed copies of the agenda for the January 23rd meeting of the North Bay Division, League of California Cities to be held in San Rafael, and requested that all reservations be made through his office.
