APPROVAL OF MINUTES
SPEC
On a motion by Councilman Crook, seconded by Councilman Norgard,
it was unanimously carried the minutes of April 7, 1965 be
approved as submitted by the Clerk.
I AL WARRANTS
The City Manager advised the Council that included in the special
warrants to be approved is payment in the amount of $28,0]0.32
to Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for the additions and betterments
to the electric distribution facilities purchased by the City and
occurring after November 1960, the date of the original inventory.
It was explained such payment is in conformity with the terms
of the Sales Agreement for such facilities.
On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman
Harlowe, it was unanimously carried Special Warrants in
of $28,040.32 be approved and ordered paid.
JAMES L. CAGLE - LEASE OF
AIRPORT PROPERTY APPROVED.

A proposed form of agreement for lease of approximately four
acres of Airport property to James L. Cag]e to be used for a
]umber manufacturing plant was read in full by the City Attorney
and discussed by the Council.
On a motion by Councilman Harlowe, seconded by Councilman Scotto,
it :was unanimously carried the Lease Agreement with Mr. James
L. Cagle be approved for lease of Airport property to Mr. Cagle
and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same.
SALVATION ARMY ENCROACHMENT
PERMIT APPROVED
On a motion by Councilman Crook, seconded by Councilman Norgard,
it was unanimously carried the City Manager be authorized to issue
an Encroachment Permit to the Salvation Army for the placing of
a collection box on public property at 289 N. Hain Street.
CITY OF REDDI NG REQUEST FOR CITY
SUPPORT OF A.B. 1218 RE. PURCHASE
REVENUE PRODUCING FACILITIES
OF
The City Attorney reviewed a proposed form of resolution supporting
the enactment of A.B. 1218 pertaining to the purchase of revenue
producing facilities by local agencies provided by the City of
Redding with a request that Ukiah take similar action in support
of the bill. Primarily, the bill would permit acquisition of
such facilities by means of a contract of purchase wi th payment
over a period of years solely from the income and revenue of the
facilities so acquired.
After a brief discussion it was determined the Council would.
need additional information before a decision could be reached
on whether to support the bill, and the City Attorney a9reed
to 9ather any information he may have on 'the proposed measure for
further consideration at a later meetin9.

The recommendations of ~he City Engineer dated April 1, 1
were also read. It was recommended by the Planning Com. mission
the variance be granted subject to the condition that curb,
gutter and sidewall< be installed by applicant along the Hortense
street frontage.
Hr. Ganter was present on behalf of the application and there
were no written or verbal protests to granting the proposed
variance. The applicant asked several questions regarding
the requirement of constructing curb, gutter and sidewalk and
indicated his willingness to comply.
On a motion by Councilman Horgard, seconded by Councilman Scotto,
it was unanimously carried the City A:ttorney be instructed to

PROGRESS REPORT
The City Manager reported that two appraisals have been received
of the property proposed for development of additional off-street
parking and a third appraisal is expected to be complete within
a few days.
LEAGUE OF CALIF. CITIES MEETING
The City Manager reported briefly on the plans being made for
April24 th meeting in Ukiah of the League of California Cities,
North Bay Division and stated that many reservations have already
been received.
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further regular business, Mayor Buxton declared
the meeting adjourned at 9:20 P.H.
