MAY 12, 1965
The City Council convened in regular session in the
Chambers at 8:00 P.M. wi th Mayor Buxton, Councilmen
Crook, Scotto, and Harlowe present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On a motion by Councilman Crook, seconded by Councilman
Norgard, it was unanimously carried the minutes of May
1965 be approved as submitted by the Clerk.

ANNEXATION NO.
PUBLIC HEARING
FROM N-A to R-1
G&-I (COOPER At~NF×ATION);
ON PROPOSED REZONING
ZONE
Public hearing was declared open at 8:01 P.M. on the proposed
rezonin9 of Annexation No. 64-1 [Cooper Annexation) in the
vicinity of Waugh Lane and Cooper Lane from N-A to R-1 Zone.
The Planning Commission recommendation that the area be rezoned
was reviewed by the City Attorney, and there bein9 no persons
in the audience requesting to be heard on the matter, Mayor Buxton
declared the public hearin9 closed at 8:03 P.M.
ORDINANCE NO. 569 REZONING "ANNEXATION
NO. 64-1" FROM N-A to R-1 ZONE INTRODUCED
Ordinance No. 569 "Amending Chapter 2 Of Division 9 Of The
Ukiah City Code As Amended By Ordinance No. 560 By Rezoning
Terri tory Known As ',Annexation No. 6/~-1' (Cooper Annexation)
From N-A To R-1 Zone" was read in full by the City Attorney
and introduced by Councilman Scotto.
PERKINS ST. WIDENING PROJECT
RIGHT OF WAY CONTRACT APPROVED -
DOUGLAS B. WILLIAMS and AUDREY VERBEEK
The City Attorney reported that a deed has been signed by
Douglas B. Williams and Audrey Verbeek covering Parcel //15
of the Perkins St. widening project, and recommended approval
of the standard form of Right of Way Contract which contemplates
payment of $285.00 for the additional right of way acquired.
On a motion by Councilman Norgard, seconded by Councilman
Scotto, it was unanimously carried the Right of ;day Contract
with Douglas B, Williams and Audrey Verbeek for Parcel //15
of the Perkins Street Widening proJect be approved,
CITY ATTORNEY REVIEWS
PENDING LEGISLATION
The May lOth, 1965 bulletin of the League of California Cities
pertainin9 to pending legislation was reviewed briefly by the
City Attorney.
SPECIAL WARRAI31TS
On a motion by Councilman Harlowe, seconded by Counci 1man Crook,
it was unanimously carried special warrants in the amount of
$329.56 be approved and ordered paid.
RES. NO. 65-55 ORDERING ABATEMENT OF
WEEDS AND RUBBLE UPON PRIVATE PROPERTY
On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman
Crook, it was unanimously carried Resolution No. 65-55 be
adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same,
"Resolution Declaring Weeds and Rubble Upon Private Property
To Be Public Nuisance And Ordering Abatement of Same," with
the insertion of June 2, 1965 at 8:00 P.M. as the date and time
for the holding of a public hearing on the matter.

CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF FINAL
MAP OF NOKOMIS ACRES SUBDIVISION,
UNIT #3 DEFERRED
The City Manager requested that consideration of the Final
Hap of Nokomis Acres Subdivision, Unit //3 be deferred until
the Subdivider has completed certain additional work.
MEETING WITH BOND ATTORNEYS
RE. PROPOSED PARKING DISTRICT
The City Manager advised the Council that he and the City
Attorney would be in San Francisco tomorrow for a discussion
with bond attorneys relative to the proposed downtown parking
district.

As there was no further regular business, Mayor Buxton de-
clared the meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M., after which the
Council reconvened in closed personnel session.
