City Hanager Lyell Cash was on vacation, and A. S. Kruth served as Acting City Manager. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On a motion by Councilman Harlowe, seconded by Councilman Scotto, it was unanimously carried the minutes of August 19G5 be approved as submitted by the Clerk. ORDINANCE NO. 571 ADOPTED On a motion by Councilman Crook, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was carried by the following roll call vote Ordinance No. 571 "Repealing Article 9 ("Gas Mains") Of Chapter 1, Division 9 And Section 8207 Relating to Gas, And Repealing Section 8290 Relating To Record Of Survey Maps; Amending Sections 8190 and 9191 Relating To Utility Easements In Subdivisions; Amending Sections ~220 And 8272 To Eliminate Reference To Article 9 Repealed Hereby." AYES: Councilmen Norgard, NOES: None. ABSENT: None. Crook, Scotto, Harlowe and .Mayor Buxton. ORDINANCE NO. 572 INTRODUCED AMENDING DIV. & UKIAH CITY CODE, "POLICE REGULATIONS" Proposed Ordinance No. 572, "Amending Section .5300 Of The Ukiah City Code Re~arding Penalties For V~lations Of Ordinances; Enactin~ Article 3, Chapter 4, Division 7 Of Said Code RelatinS To Citations, ?,nd Providing Penalties For Failure To Appear CF Post ~ai]" was read in Full by the City Attorney and introduced by Councilman Norgard. BAIRD ADVERTISING AGENCY CONTRACT (STREET REFUSE CAllS) The City Attorney reported that a letter has been directed to Baird Advertising Agency informing them of the City's intent to terminate the contract for street garbage receptacles, and that i-? nothing 'further is heard from the agency, the matter will be presented to the Council at 'the meeting of September 1st. HilFiker Pipe Co. $8,319.50 (No bid bond) it was recommended the bid be awarded th the low bidder, Pacific Corrugated Culvert Company. On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Harlowe, it was unanimously carried the bid for furnishing 350 feet galvanized steel pipe arch with necessary band couplers be awarded to Pacific Corrugated Culvert Company in the amount of $6,083.00. AWARD TRANS I ND US OF BID FOR ONE 300 KVA FORMER - TRIAL ELECTRIC SERVICE CO. Tabulation of bids received 'for furnishing one 300 KVA Pad Mount Transformer was reviewed as follows: Industrial Electric Service Co. $2,460.00 Maydwell & Hartzell 2,570.00 Westinghouse Supply Co. 2,658.00 It was recommended the bid be awarded to the low bidder, Industrial Electric Service Co. On a motion by Councilman Crook, seconded by Councilman Norgard, it was unanimously carried the bid for furnishing 1 300 KVA pad mount transformer be awarded to Industrial Electric Service Company in the amount of $2,4~0.00. OUTDOOR LIGHTING DISPLAY REDWOOD EMPIRE FAIR Mr. Kru the Fai possibl th reported that 'the City's outdoor lighting display r had received many favorable comments and several e orders for installation of this equipment. at SALES TAX REPORT Mr. Kruth reported that Sales Tax in the amount of $60,000 has been received as an estimated payment for the first quarter of the 1965-66 fi scal year, which is a 7% increase over the $56,000 payment for the same period last year. COUNCILMAN CROOK Councilman grot,~' c:,L:estioned whether the Treasurer's report the months of June and July had been prepared and Mr. Kruth agreed to look into this. for COUNCILMAN SCOTTO Councilman Scotto requested clarification of the procedures used for assigning police officers for extra duty at special events where the Police Department contracts to provide police services, questionin~ whether it was on a voluntary basis or by specific assignment. COUNCILMAN HARLOWE Councilman Harlowe enquired into the progress being made for construction of the new hangar units at the Airport. Hr. Kruth stated that specifications are being prepared at this time and should be ready for the Council's approval within approximately two weeks.
