at the time this is completed and presented to the Conncil, the

protests of relinquishment to the State Highway Commission could be
corrected on State Street but not on Talmage Road. The City Manager
stated that there is a possibility of a solution of both highways

would be to attempt to relate the City of Ukiah problems with other
similar problems in northern California and it was recommended that
the City d~iay 'further consideration until March or April of 1967

FURTHER D I SCUSS ION OF BETTY STREET
DRAINAGE CROSS I NG (SPURLOCK SUBD I Vl S ION
ADJACENT COOPER LANE)
The City Manager reported that he and the City Attorney had looked
at this area where there is a proposed installation of a culvert
type pipe to connect the dedicated portion of Betty Street to a
non-dedicated street (Cooper Lane) and could see no objections to
the proposed "share the cost" project inasmuch as this is a vital
drainage channel considered to be a part of the City's master
drainage channel. It was pointed out that the subdivider would
surface the street area from the northern boundary of his subdivision
to the connection with the private roadway at his total expense.
On a motion by Councilman Crook, seconded by Councilman Henderson,
it was unanimously carried that the City participate in this project
on a 50-50 basis, not to exceed $500 on the part of the City and
the City Attorney be directed to prepare a contract for the signa-
ture of the Subdivider to eliminate any liability on the part o'F
the City and to clarify the terms of the joint agreement.
