P.M. wi th Mayor Scotto, Councilmen Henderson
Councilmen Crook and Norgard were absent.
On a motion by Councilman Hill, seconded by Councilman Henderson,
it was Unanimously carried the minutes of the meetin9 of June 19,
1968 be approved as submitted by the Clerk.
SPECIAL WARRANTS
On a motion by Councilman Henderson, seconded ~y Councilman Hill,
it was unanimously carried Special Warrants #5~u8 to #5470 in-
clusive, in the total amount of $168.07 be approved and ordered
paid.
RES. NO. 68-56 GRANTING
VAR lANCE (JOHN ROMERO)
On a motion by Councilman Hill, seconded b~ Councilman Henderson
it was unanimously carried Resolution No. 8-56 be adopted and tl~e
Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "Resolution Granting

RES. NO. 68-59 APPROVING
ACCEPTANCE OF F.A.A. GRANT OFFER
On a motion by Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Hill,
it was carried by the following roll call vote Resolution No. 68-59
be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same,
Resolution Of The City Of Ukiah, California Approving Acceptance Of
F.A.A. Grant Offer: Authorizing Execution And Transmittal Of S~me".
AYES: Councilmen Henderson, Hill and Mayor
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen Crook and Norgard.

AWARD OF BID FOR PETROLEUM
PRODUCTS TO GULF AND SHELL OIL
Tabulation of the bids received for furnishing petroleum product
requirements through June 30, 1969 were reviewed as follows:

The City Manager recommended the bid for regular gasoline be
awarded to Shell 0il Company and the bid for ethyl gasoline and
motor oil be awarded to Gulf Oil Company.
On a motion by Coun.cilman Hill, seconded by Councilman Henderson,
it was unanimously carried the bids for furnishing petroleum
products through dune 30, 1969 be awarded as circled on the above
tabulation.
PRESENTATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS
EFFECTING PERSONNEL 1968-69
The City Manager distributed to the Council "Recommendations
Effecting Personnel 1968-69" and reviewed the contents. He also
read a letter from Timothy W. O"Brien, Attorney retained by the
Police Officers Association, requesting Council consideration to
be heard regarding salary adjustments for their Association above
that recommended by the City Manager. The City Attorney explained
the law dealing with employee-employer relationships and stated its

purpose is to obtain communication between the two on matters
either or both wish to discuss. The City Manager read a memo-
randum dated June 26, 1968 recommending that any action taken
by the Council regarding personnel for the coming year be
effective July 1, 1968. The recommendations as presented will
be considered at a subsequent meeting, after Council study.
RES. NO. 68-58 MAKING APPROVED
SALARY ADJUSTMENTS APPLICABLE
AS OF JULY 1, 1968
On a motion by Councilman Hill, seconded by Councilman Henderson,
it"was unanimously carried Resolution No. 08-58 be adopted and
the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "Resolution Making
Salary Adjustments And Employee Benefits Approved By Approval Of
196U-b9 Final Budget Applicalbe As of July 1, 1965".
RESIGNATION OF AIRPORT
COMMISSIONER (DONALD L. GILMER)
The City Manager read a letter from Dr. Donald L. Gilmer submitting
his resignation from the Airport Commission effective immediately.

Councilman Henderson requested a two minute personnel session.
COUNCILMAN HILL
Councilman Hill reported he had been requested by the Ukiah Sing
Out Group to ask Council to declare the week of July 8th as "Sing
Out Week In Ukiah". The purpose is to publicize their activities
and to raise funds for projects.
