MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
JUNE 262 1970
The City Council of the City of Ukiah convened in adjourned regular session
in the Council Chambers at 7:00 a.m, with Mayor Norgard, Councilmen Scotto,
Buxton, and Henderson present.
SPECIAL WARRANTS
On a motion by Councilman Scotto, seconded by Councilman Henderson, it was
unanimously carried Special Warrants #2246 to #2276 inclusive in the amount
of $16,048.58 be approved and ordered paid.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVAL OF
CITY PROPOSAL RE JOINT LIBRARY OPERATION
Points brought up at the July 24, 1970 Council meeting for inclusion in the
proposal to the Board of Supervisors were read by the City Manager. The
Board of Supervisors took formal action and unanimously approved conditions
set forth in the City Manager's letter dated June 25, 1970, and instructed
the District Attorney to prepare an agreement containing all points enumerated.
RESOLUTION NO. 70-39 ADVISING BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS THAT CITY LIBRARY DESIRES
TO BECOME PART OF COUNTY SYSTEM
On a motion by Councilman Buxton, seconded by Councilman Henderson, it was
carried by the following roll call vote Resolution No. 70-39 be adopted
and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "A Resolution Of The
City Council Of The City Of Ukiah Advising The Mendocino County Board Of
Supervisors That The Ukiah Free Public Library Desires To Become A Part
Of The County Free Library System."
AYES: Councilmen Buxton, Henderson, and Mayor Norgard
NOES: Councilman Scotto
ABSENT: None
OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL UNION NO. 3
City Manager reported he will meet this date with representatives from
Operation Engineers Local Union No. 3 and employee representatives at
which time their list of demands will be presented. He requested author-
ization to deduct union dues and to approve salary adjustments effective
July 1, 1970.
On a motion by Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Scotto, it was
unanimously carried salary adjustments for the 1970-71 fiscal year be
effective July 1, 1970.
On a motion by Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Buxton, it was
unanimously carried to authorize deduction of union dues from salaries of
those employees who choose to join the union.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Norgard adjourned the meeting at 7:21 a.m.
