MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
MAY 222 1972
The City Council of the City of Ukiah convened in special session at 4:00 p.m.
with Councilmen Weinkauf, Norgard, Simpson, Pearson, and Mayor Buxton present.
City Manager was absent.
INVOCATION & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The invocation was given by the Reverenc Mr. Elmer Schmitt and Councilman
Pearson led in the pledge of allegiance.
GENERAL WARRANTS
On a motion by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Pearson, it was
unanimously carried General Warrants #5727 to #5852 inclusive, in the total
amount of $94,840.94 be approved and ordered paid.
PAYROLL WARRANTS
On a motion by Councilman Weinkauf, seconded by Councilman Norgard, it was
unanimously carried Payroll Warrants #670 to #829 inclusive, for the period of
April 16th to April 30, 1972, be approved in the total amount of $54,914.55.
NOTICE OF COMPLETION - AC SURFACINGS
ON STREETS AND AT AIRPORT ( PARNUM PAVING)
City Manager pro tem Kruth read a memorandum dated May 22, 1972, from the
Department of Public Works stating the paving of Highland Drive, North Oak, Ford
Street, Redwood Avenue, North Bush Street, Airport Parking Lot, and the
Planeport Site had been completed by Parnum Paving, Inc. as required under
the contract. Recommendation of acceptance of the work and authorization to file
the Notice of Completion was made.
On a motion by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Pearson, it was
unanimously carried the subject asphalt concrete surfacings be accepted as
complete and the City Clerk be authorized to file the required Notice of
Completion.
ISSUANCE OF CARNIVAL BUSINESS
LICENSE APPROVED (BUTLER AMUSEMENTS)
City Manager pro tem reported the Butler Amusement Shows has applied for a
business license to conduct their show at the Fairgrounds during the
Festival ' 72. Required checking of the operation by the Police Department has been mZ
There have been no major problems or complaints reported.
On a motion by Councilman Norgard, seconded by Councilman Simpson, it was
unanimously carried to approve the issuance of a business license to Butler
Amusements to operate during Festival 1972 at the rate established for
this type operation.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Buxton adjourned the meeting at 4:12 p.m.
