HomeMy WebLinkAboutmin 1976-01-07 58 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH JANUARY 7, 1976 - PAGE 1 The City Council convened in regular session at 8:00 p.m. with Councilwoman Pearson, Councilmen N&rgard, Simpson and Mayor Weinkauf present. Councilman Wood was absent. INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Councilman Simpson gave the invocation and Councilman Norgard led in the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On a motion by Councilvvman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Simpson it was unanimously carried the minutes of the meeting of December 17, 1975, be approved as submitted by the Clerk. PAYROLL WARRANTS On a motion by Councilwoman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Norgard it was unanimously carried Payroll Warrants #4647 to #4839 inclusive in the amount of $80,506.76 for the period of November 30, 1975, through December 13, 19752 be approved. GENERAL WARRANTS On a motion by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Norgard it was unanimously carried General Warrants #2702 to #2732 inclusive in the total amount of $40,481.50 be approved and ordered paid. ORDINANCE NO. 675 INTRODUCED GRANTING PERMISSION TO TRANSFER TV FRANCHISE FOR UKIAH TO TELEPROMPTER CORPORATION On a motion by Councilman Norgard, seconded by Councilwoman Pearson, it was unanimously carried to introduce Ordinance No. 675, "An Ordinance Of The City Council Of The City Of Ukiah Granting Permission To Transfer The Community Antenna Television Franchise For Ukiah, California To Teleprompter Corporation, A New York Corporation". RESOLUTION NO. 76-37 AUTHORIZING BUILDING INSPECTOR TO FEE FOR FHA REQUESTED BUILDING INSPECTION On a motion by Councilman Norgard, seconded by Councilwoman Pearson, it was unanimously carried Resolution No. 76-37 be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, "Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Ukiah Authorizing Building Inspector To Inspect And Fee For FHA Requested Building Inspection" Mr. Wallace Behm was present in the audience, asked a question regarding subject resolution which was answered by the City Attorney. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES DENIED CHRISTOPHER R. AGGI City Attorney reviewed subject claim filed by Attorney Hugh Preston for claimant alleging injury while on the Municipal Golf Course. On a motion by Councilman Norgard, seconded by Councilwoman Pearson it was unanimously carried to deny the claim filed by Hugh Preston, Attorney for Christopher R. Aggi and refer same to the insurance carrier. RICE VS. CITY Subject trial resulted in an order against the City in the amount of $250. MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH JANUARY 7, 1976 - PAGE 2 COUNCILMAN NORGARD Councilman Norgard referred to the Governor's state of the state message, indicated his concern for the future because of certain programs and stated that it is gratifying to know the local government is operating under solid management. COUNCILMAN SIMPSON Councilman Simpson asked the status of the approach to the bridge in the area where Kennedy is building. City Manager reported the water line has been installed and construction of the approach to the bridge is underway.
