The. City Council met in an adjourned session at 4 P.M. to disCuss Land
Use of the General Plan.
Councilmembers present' Hickey, Feibusch,.Snyder, Riley, Myers. Staff
present: Payne, Harris, Melvin
VII. LAND USE
INTRODUCTION (Page 23)
To read as follows- "Th6 Land Use Element is intended to designa.te the
distribution and location of the various proposed uses of land in the
general plan and the City's zoning ordinance be consistent with the
General Plan."
Resid'ential (Page 23)
Entire section deleted.
Commercial (Page 24)
Deleted.

Water
Delete: "active and passive".
Consensus'of Council that Water should be~:moved t~ O~en Space and
Conservation. .
Flood Plain
Change the Word "frequent" contained in the seCond sentence to "various."
Change the word "Flood Plain" contained in the last sentenc~ to "Floodway."
New paragraph to begin ~ith "As gravel extraction operations...".
It was the consensus of Council that a flood map be included.

Consensus of Council that staff prepare a proposal for. the lowest density
designation;
Consensus of Council that the density classifications such as "Low, 1-5
DU/acre" only be listed after "The density classification are:"
Consensus of Council that the fifth sentence in Medium-Low paragraph
be put into the Housing Element.
Consensus of Council that reference to septic tanks contained in "Low"
paragraph be placed in Implementation.
Consensus of Council that statements relative to density bonuses be
consolidated and placed at the end of Land Use Element.
ACTION PROGRAM (Page 29)
No. 1 to read: "Cause to be. initiated a study of existing zoning. The
study should point out inconsistencies and be directed to bring the zoning
ordinance into consistency with the General Plan."
No. 2: Deletion of entire paragraph with the exception of "A special
hillside development control ordinance should be prepared to deal with
special problems in the hillside areas."
No. 3: Deleted.
No. 4 to read: "Integrate census/data block and tract boundaries to
correspond to valley planninq areas in order to maintain proper statistics."
Councilmembers Snyder and Hickey reported they would not be able to
attend the June 3 meeting.
Concern was expressed with agenda packet distribution. It was pointed
out that only agendas are mailed out to interested parties when the agenda
packet is prepared.
