HomeMy WebLinkAboutmin 06-07-83 rsh339 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH REVENUE SHARING HEARING - June 7, 1983 The City Council convened for the annual revenue sharing hearing at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Ail Councilmembers were present. Staff present: Payne, Brosig, Kruth REVENUE SHARING HEARING City Manager made comments concerning subject matter explaining that the administrative hearing was held on 3/16/83 and three agencies were present: Mendocino Youth Project; Senior Citizens; and Project Sanctuary. Each requested funds from Revenue Sharing. Their requests were considered in preparation of the proposed 1983-84 fiscal year budget. The City Manager referred to written material submitted by each agency. Public Hearing opened - 4:40 p.m. The following persons spoke in support of their request for funds for the next fiscal year: 1) George Bartlett, Senior Citizens requested $11,500 and explained the Senior Program and the numbers of people it served. 2) Roland Kusow also addressed the Council regarding the Senior program and their importance to Ukiah. 3) Mr. Levine, Assistant Director, Mendocino Youth Project briefed Council on funding and programs of their agency. Their request was $3,090. 4) Margo Frank representing Project Sanctuary requested $5,000 and discussed the services provided by their program. Public Hearing closed - 5:10 p.m. Council discussed the matter of funding different organizations. A suggestion was made by the Mayor for an undistributed reserve. Councilmembers discussed increasing amounts to the agencies represented. Council determined the following allocations be made from revenue sharing funds: Senior Citizens - $8,000 Mendocino Youth Project - $4,000 Project Sanctuary - $4,000 It was also Council consensus to reduce the Civic Center fund by $3,900 to provide for the above increases. This action would alter the proposed budget and the tentatively approved Revenue Sharing Budget as follows: DESCRIPTION PROPOSED TENTATIVELY APPROVED BY C/COUNCIL Cap. Imp.
