HomeMy WebLinkAboutmin 04-25-84 sm478 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH SPECIAL MEETING April 25, 1984 The City Council convened in special session at 6:47 p.m. in the City Council Chamber for the second reading of the Ordinance, Amendment to Zoning Code Section 9047(i) - Barber Shops and Beauty Shops in R-3 Zone. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Feibusch, Dickens, Hickey, Myers and Mayor Kelley. Staff present: Payne, Rapport, Harris, Mitchell, Pedroncelli, Robinson, Roper, Schlienger, Yarbrough, Stamelos and McAfee. The City Manager reported the first reading of the Ordinance was at the regular City Council meeting April 18, 1984. He explained the Ordinance would allow barber and beauty shops in the R-3 zone with a Use Permit. The Ordinance was read by the Deputy City Clerk. M/S: Hickey/Myers to introduce the Ordinance by Title only carried by a unanimous voice vote. M/S: Hickey/Myers to adopt the Ordinance carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Feibusch, Dickens, Hickey, Myers and Mayor Kelley. NOES: None ABSENT: None Councilmember Hickey reported he had been contacted by Bob Kennedy of Kennedy Homes who had asked him to find out if there is anyway Kennedy Homes could go ahead with their work pending the appeal. The City Attorney responded by stating that in his opinion Kennedy Homes could develop properties of the final map but if the Use Permit is set aside it could be risky for future development because of pending litigation.
