The City Council convened in an adjourned regular session at 4:10 p.m., in the Old City Council Chambers, 111 West Church Street. The roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Henderson, Hickey, Kelley, and Mayor Myers. Absent: Councilmember Kier. Staff present: City Manager Payne, Director of Electric Utilities Roper. Others Present: Victor Lopes, Architect. STUDY SESSION 2. Discussion with Victor Lopes, Architect, Regarding Future Civic Center Mr. Lopes presented to Council a color coded plan of the future Civic Center, showing different types of walls; concrete block, furniture type, remountable (floor to ceiling), and metal stud with gypsum board. He then reviewed changes from the colored print to a new print dated February 6, 1986. Councilmembers asked about the availability of cable and telephone connections. Mr. Lopes assured the Council there is three inch spacing in the walls so cable and telephone outlets will be available throughout the building. The issue of plan checking was discussed, with the Council requesting that this be acted on as soon as possible. Ail parties recognize the uncertainty of the existing state law regarding public safety buildings. 3. Final Approval of Interior Floor Plans for Future Civic Center M/S Kelley/Henderson to approve the final interior floor plans as submitted for the future Civic Center with changes in location of the Mayor and Councilmember offices as noted on the plans dated February 6, 1986. The motion was carried with the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Henderson, Hickey, Kelley, and Mayor Myers. NOES: None. ABSENT: Kier The City Manager requested adding to the agenda a clarification of the commercial electric rates that was presented to Council at their meeting of February 5, 1986. The City Council concurred. 4. Clarification of the Commercial Electric Rates The Director of Electric Utilities used a flip chart to help in a detailed explanation of the electric rate structure and the one percent (1%) decrease. The City Council expressed appreciation for the explanation. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was-adjourned at 4:48 p.m. D. Kent Payne Deputy City Clerk
