HomeMy WebLinkAboutmin 04-28-87461 CITY OF UKIAH SPECIAL MEETING OLD CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS 111 WEST CHURCH STREET APRIL 28, 1987 5:30 P.M. The City Council convened in a special session at 5:30 p.m., in the Old City Council Chambers, 111 West Church Street. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Schneiter, Shoemaker, Kier, and Mayor Henderson. Absent: Councilmember Hickey. Staff present: City Manager Payne, City Attorney Rapport, Planning Director Harris, and City Clerk Hayes. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5a. Discussion of Main Street Program Mayor Henderson explained that the State's Main Street Program Committee was in Ukiah yesterday. They had a concern with the proposed budget. The City Manager expounded on their concerns. He noted a letter from the Downtown Merchants firming up their commitments. He suggested the Council be the "back-up" for the Main Street Program until all commitments are firm. Council discussed the issue further. M/S Kier/Schneiter authorized the City Manager to send a letter to the Department of Commerce expressing full support to the Main Street Program noting the City will insure the appropriate cash flow to meet the budget as presented in the Main Street application. The motion was carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Schneiter, Shoemaker, Kier, and Mayor Henderson. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilmember Hickey. Council waived items 2, 3, 4, and 6 of the agenda. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:47 p.m. Yvette S. Hayes City Clerk Special Meeting April 28, 1987 Page 1
