HomeMy WebLinkAboutmin 06-10-87487 CITY OF UKIAH REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING 431 South Main Street June 10, 1987 The City Council convened in a regular adjourned session at 5:30 p.m., in the Public Meeting Room at the Grace Hudson Museum. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Schneiter, Shoemaker, Hickey, Kier, and Mayor Henderson. Staff present: City Manager Payne, City Attorney Rapport, Planning Director Harris, Personnel Director Horsley, and City Clerk Hayes. INVOCATION/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Henderson delivered the Invocation and Councilmember Kier led the Pledge of Allegiance. RIGHT TO APPEAL DECISION Mayor Henderson reviewed Section 1094.6 of the Code of Civil Procedure regarding the appeal process. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5A. Presentation by the State Local Government Permit Assistance Section Re~ardin~ the California Beverage Container Rec~clin~ and Litter Reduction Act - AB 2020 The City Manager explained the purpose of the informal informative session. Tanya Lipschutz from the Local Government Assistance Section on Recycling gave a basic overview of AB 2020. She discussed Oregon's recycling system and recycling incentives for the manufacturers, distributors, and consumers. She also discussed local government's responsibilities and convenience zones. Dean Borg from the Convenience Payment Section on Recycling discussed the impacts on a local level and expounded on the convenience zones. Discussion and questions ensued. Council thanked the presenters and the community interest groups for coming. COMMENTS FROM AUDIENCE None. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS Ma~or Henderson Noted the Civic Center Dedication Committee wishes to change the ceremony date to September 26, 1987. Noted the Sun House Installation of Officers is June 23, 1987. CLOSED SESSION Mayor Henderson requested going into Closed Session to discuss Meet and Confer and Personnel Matters. Council went into Closed Session at 6:27 p.m. Council reconvened at 7:15 p.m. Reg. Adj. Mtg.
