MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH - NOVEMBER 21, 1989
The City Council convened in a special meeting at 5:08 p.m. in
the Council Chambers at the Civic Center, 300 Seminary Avenue,
Ukiah, California. Roll was taken and the following
Councilmembers were present: Wattenburger, Shoemaker,
Schneiter, Hickey and Mayor Henderson. Staff present: City
Clerk McKay, City Manager Watson, City Attorney Rapport, Public
Works Director/City Engineer Pedroncelli, Finance Director
Vara, Police Chief Keplinger, Fire Chief Mitchell, Planning
Director Harris, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Director
McCarty and Administrative Secretary to the City Manager
Stamelos.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
2a. Adoption of Resolution Approvinq Contract for Appointment
of New City Manager
Council adjourned into Closed Session at 5:09 p.m. for
discussion of a Personnel matter regarding the appointment of a
New City Manager.
Council came out of Closed Session and reconvened at 5:32 p.m.
Mayor Henderson announced an agreement has been reached with
Charles L. Rough, the current City Administrator of the City of
Selma.
M/S Schneiter/Wattenburger to adopt Resolution No. 90-28
Authorizing the Mayor to sign the Agreement with Charles Rough
to perform the duties of City Manager for the City of Ukiah.
The motion was carried by the following roll call vote: AYES:
Councilmembers Wattenburger, Shoemaker, Schneiter, Hickey and
Mayor Henderson. NOES: None.
Mayor Henderson noted that Mr. Rough will start on January 2,
1990, with Mr. Watson staying on for two weeks after that time.
It was the general opinion of all of Council that Mr. Rough
comes very highly recommended.
