HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin 06-14-90478 CITY OF UKIAH CITY COUNCIL MINUTES REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING CIVIC CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS 300 Seminary Avenue June 14, 1990 The City Council convened in a Regular Adjourned Meeting at 4:37 p.m., in the Council Chambers at the Civic Center, 300 Seminary Avenue, Ukiah. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Wattenburger, Schneiter, Hickey and Mayor Henderson. Absent: Councilmember Shoemaker. Staff present: City Clerk McKay, City Manager Rough, City Attorney Rapport, Assistant City Manager Horsley, Police Chief Keplinger, Fire Chief Mitchell, Finance Director Vara, city Engineer/Public Works Director Pedroncelli, Community Development Director Harris, Assistant Electrical Distribution Engineer Wobig, Administrative Secretary to the City Manager Stamelos, and Parks and Recreation Director McCarty. Councilmember Shoemaker arrived and joined the meeting at 4:38 p.m. Special Order of Business Mayor Henderson read and presented a framed Commendation to Hays Hickey, honoring his twelve years of service to the City of Ukiah as a Councilmember. Mayor Henderson then presented a framed reproduction of the original architect's rendering of the Civic Center to Hays Hickey. 3. Adoption of Resolution Declaring Results of the 1990 Municipal Election M/S Shoemaker/Schneiter to adopt Resolution No. 90-54, Declaring the Results of the Municipal Election of June 5, 1990. The motion was carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Wattenburger, Shoemaker, Schneiter, Hickey and Mayor Henderson. NOES: None. Installation of Mayor and Councilmembers The City Clerk administered the oath of office to the newly elected Councilmembers Schneiter, McMichael and Mayor Henderson. Additional comments were made by Hays Hickey and Frank McMichael. Mayor Henderson delivered a state of the City speech in which she especially acknowledged her fellow City Council colleagues, Interim City Manager Watson, City Manager Chuck Rough and the City staff for their achievements, particularly in the last year.
