CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING
CIVIC CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS
300 Seminary Avenue
November 13, 1990
The City Council convened in a regular adjourned meeting at 6:36
p.m. in the Council Chambers, 300 Seminary Avenue, Ukiah,
California. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were
present: McMichael, Wattenburger, Shoemaker, Schneiter and Mayor
Henderson. Staff present: City Clerk McKay, City Manager Rough,
and Community Development Director Harris.
NEW BUSINESS
2a. Meet with Growth Management Steering Committe~
Mayor Henderson thanked all Growth Management Committee members
for their volunteering to work together to plan for future
growth in the Ukiah Valley.
Councilmember Schneiter encouraged the Committee to be
innovative as City staff will provide any needed assistance to
them and expressed his appreciation for their help to the City
Council in planning for the future.
Councilmember Shoemaker indicated that the Ukiah Valley has
historically had to provide for themselves and the Growth
Management Committee has a very important job right now to plan
for the future of this valley and encouraged them to develop
concensus with all members who will hopefully express themselves
freely.
Councilmember Wattenburger thanked the Committee for their
citizen participation and input, and he commented that they
should expand their horizons in the next 18 months by talking to
other citizens of Ukiah about what they all desire the City to
be like in the future.
Councilmember McMichael expressed his appreciation for having
many good people to work together as the representatives of the
valley and that he will accept their final recommendations,
conditional upon the public hearings.
Adjournment
There being no further City Council business, the Mayor
adjourned the meeting to November 14, 1990, at 7:00 a.m., at the
Country Chef Restaurant, 676 Orchard a Joint
