3a. Discussion Reqardinq Future Options for the Acceptance
of Septaqe at the Wastewater Treatment Facility
Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the Ukiah Valley
Sanitation District's action approving a resolution to be
sent to the County Board of Supervisors, concerning
establishing a policy to not accept septage from outside
the Sanitation District boundaries after the date of July 1,
1995. Issues were discussed such as lack of County foresight
concerning future septage handling capabilities, increased
building with septic tanks, lack of adequate facilities to
handle County wide septage, sphere of influence of the
Sanitation District, noticing the public in the outlaying
areas of the future possibility of not accepting their
septage, possible closures of septage facilities on the
coast.
Mayor Schneiter requested a staff report concerning
developing a database for who is using the Wastewater
Treatment Plant for dumping of septage.
