CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
Special Meeting
with
Senator Mike Thompson
CIVIC CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS
300 Seminary Avenue
March 11, 1994
4:00 p.m.
The City Council convened at 4:15 p.m. in a special meeting
called by Mayor Schneiter in advance of the 24 hour
requirement, of which the agenda was legally noticed and
posted at 10:00 a.m. on March 10, 1994, in the Council
Chambers of the Civic Center, 300 Seminary Avenue. The
following Councilmembers were present: Mastin, Malone,
Wattenburger, Shoemaker and Mayor Schneiter. Staff present:
City Clerk McKay, City Manager Rough, Assistant City Manager
Horsley, Public Utility Director Barnes, and City
Engineer Beard.

None.
NEW BUSINESS
3a. Informal Discussion with Senator Mike Thompson and City
Officials
Senator Thompson greeted the audience attending, in which
there were representatives from the City of Ukiah, local
School Districts and Mendocino County Officials. He
indicated he likes to hold informal town meetings in which
he can address community concerns and provide updates
regarding the State of California condition and pending
legislation.
A general informal question and answer period ensued
regarding the Governor's proposed budget, CEQA
requirements and their impacts, criminal legislative reform
and costs, Federal military base closures and impacts,
public transportation and the railroad right of way
acquisition, proposed State realignment of governmental
services and funding, and recent California disaster costs.
Adjournment
There being no further business o~Id,~cussio,~ the meeting
was adjourned at 5:22 p.m.
