HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin 05-10-94 CITY OF UKIAH CITY COUNCIL MINUTES Regular Adjourned Meeting Council/Staff Goal Setting Workshop CIVIC CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS 300 Seminary Avenue May 10, 1994 Mayor Schneiter convened the meeting at 6:37 p.m. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Mastin, Malone, Wattenburger, Shoemaker and Mayor Schneiter. Staff present: City Manager Rough, Public Safety Director Keplinger, Assistant to the City Manager Harris, Redevelopment/Economic Development Coordinator DeKnoblough, Cultural Arts/Museum Director Abel-Vidor, Planning Director Sawyer, Finance Director Butt, Airport Manager Bua, Electrical Distribution Engineer, Water and Sewer Supervisor Borecky, Assistant City Manager Horsley, Public utility Director Barnes, Golf/Parks Superintendent Carpenter, Sports Coordinator Schueller, Police Captain Williams, Police Captain Budrow, and Executive Assistant Yoast. Mayor Schneiter recommended conducting another Council goal setting session as the last in depth one was in 1991. The City Manager reported another community attitude survey will conducted this upcoming year which will provide information concerning citizens. Councilmember Shoemaker requested as we have reduced the number of departments from 9 to 6, since 1990, he would like to see a chart showing number of positions in 1990 compared to now, and how we compare to other cities. The City Manager reported he will provide a staffing organizational report at the budget hearings. The City Manager reported on the past year's accomplishments. Informal discussion regarding goals of the Departments of Planning and Finance, was conducted. Councilmember Shoemaker requested a comparison regarding the City utility billing program and other utilities, and further information regarding the credit card use proposal. The City Manager explained detailed reports will be provided to Council at budget hearings. Recess - 8:14 p.m. Reconvened - 8:19 p.m. Informal discussion continued regarding goals as provided by the Departments of Public Safety, Public Utilities, Community Services, the Sun House Museum Engineering, and Airport. ' Mayor Schneiter and Councilmember Mastin requested the cleaning up and decorating of the Council office.
