HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-35 RESOLUTION NO. 2003-35 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH ESTABLISHING THE PATHS, OPEN SPACE, AND CREEKS COMMISSION WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Ukiah wishes to insure the successful implementation of the Open Space, Transportation, and Conservation elements of its General Plan; and, WHEREAS, In response to community input the City Council has expressed interest in seeking and securing properties for the preservation of open space, and development of trails and pathways; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has also expressed interest in restoring, rehabilitating and enhancing the City's creeks; and, WHEREAS, in order to ensure the successful implementation of these goals and objectives the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1045 on April 2, 2003 creating the Paths, Open Space, and Creeks Commission; and, WHEREAS, in order to implement Ordinance No. 1045, it is necessary to adopt of policies and procedures for appointing members and establishing terms of service. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the city Council of the city of Ukiah determines: 1. The Paths, Open Space, and Creeks Commission shall consist of five members. vote: . The members of the Paths, Open Space, and Creeks Commission shall be appointed as follows: Except as provided herein, three (3) of the members shall be residents of the City and two (2) may reside outside the City but within the City's Sphere of Influence as established by the Local Agency Formation Commission. Members shall be appointed according to procedures established by resolution of the City Council. Members shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years which terms shall be staggered.
