HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-55, RESOLUTION NO. 83-55 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH ENCOURAGING COOPERATION OF THE MENDOCINO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPER- VISORS TO REDUCE TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN THE NORTHERN UKIAH AREA 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 WHEREAS, the City Council has concerns regarding existing and potential future traffic congestion in the northerly area of Ukiah and the area of the County adjacent to the City, and; WHEREAS, the unincorporated area of the County adjacent to the City limits is within the sphere of influence of Ukiah and may in the future be annexed to the City, and; WHEREAS, development in the area of concern is and has been in progress for some years, and; 12 13 14 ~, 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ukiah has engaged TJKM Company to prepare a traffic study, and; WHEREAS, that traffic study specifically recommends an east-west thoroughfare along the northerly line of the Empire Gardens subdivision, and; WHEREAS, such thoroughfare would align with Ford Road on the east side of State Street, and; WHEREAS, the future improvement and extension of Ford Road to Redemeyer Road is desirable for better traffic flow, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby asks the Board of Supervisors of Mendocino County to work with the City towards the prevention of increased traffic congestion within northern Ukiah and the areas adjacent thereto.
