HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-07 4 $ 6 ? 8 9 10 11 12 14 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 2~ 24 2~ 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 83-7 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~ CITY OF UKIAH DECLARING A CERTAIN STRUCTURE TO BE A SUBSTANDARD BUILDING AND A PUBLIC NUISANCE }qHERFAS, the remains of the fomer single family dwelling house which is located at 1195 South Dora Street and is situated on that parcel of property which is located adjacent to and on the East side of Dora Street and is identified by the Mendocino County Assessor's Records as A.P. #3-350-02 and is further described in Book 1300, page 417 of Mendocino County Records, is in an unsanitary, unsafe and dilapidated condition, and h~-~REAS, the Mendocino County Department of Environmental Health has determined this structure to be unfit for human habitation, and M~REAS, the Building Official. of the City of Ukiah has determined this structure to be hazardous, a harborage for rodents and other retain, and an attraction for children and other unauthorized persons and is in fact a sub- standard building and a public nuisance, and }~t85REAS, the Building Official of the City of Ukiah has duly notified the property owners of the condition of the structure, and W}{ERFAS, the property owners have failed to take any corrective action Mmtsoever. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the above referenced structure is hereby declared to be a substandard building and a public nuisance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the intention of the City Council to commence abatement proceedings as provided in Division .5, Chapter 10 of the Ukiah City Code. The Building Official is hereby directed to prepare and serve "NOTICES OF HEARING" to abate a substandard building as provided in Section 3303 of the Ukiah City Code.
