HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-43RESOLUTION NO. 80-43 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH ADOPTING ELECTRIC RATE SCHEDULES WHEREAS, the City Manager has reported that existing electric rate schedules did not generate an adequate revenue to finance the City electric system, and WHEREAS, revised rate schedules have been proposed, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the attached electric rate schedules attached hereto and made a part hereof are hereby adopted to be effective February 1, 1980, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the figure of $1.10 per month is hereby established as a surcharge on electric u~tility bills for the purpose of providing street lighting; said surcharge to be effective February 1, 1980, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 80-27 is hereby repealed PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of January, 1980 by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Hickey, Myers, Simpson, Brannon, Mayor Snyder 2! TERRITORY Within the corpor'ate limits of the City of Ukiah. The lifeline allowances for space heating will be prorated in the May and November billing periods based on the ratio of the number of days prior to May 1 and subsequent to October 31, respectively, to the total number of days in the billing period.. (Continued) Schedu]e 1600 Electric Rate Domes tic Service Page 2 SPECIAL ~ONDITIONS a) Any apartment house of three or less apartments in the same building may receive service on-this schedule, provided the service charge shall be $1.75 per apartment per month. b) Any flat or apartment house of four or more-apartments ma~ receive service on this schedule on a single meter, provided the service charge shall be $1.75 per meter per month and the billing blocks shall be multiplied by number of' apartments per month. c) Service under this s~hedule is subject to City of Ukiah Customer Service Policies for Electric Service, and all other applicable -Rules and Regulations which may be from time to time adopted b}? the City of Ukiah. All rates quoted under this schedule are subject to a'djustment or reclassification under this or a different schedule at any time after reasonable notice to customer whenever the City of Ukiah deems such changes to be necessary. LIFE SUPPORT DEVICES -, A residential custOmer, who certifies in writing that he resides in a separately metered or submetered sinsle-family_ dwelling uni5 and that regular use 'of a medical life-support device is essential to maintain the life of a full-time resident of the household, is eligible for a uniform monthly lifeline allowance in addition to those allowances shown under "Lifeline Usage." The amount of the additional allowance will be determined by the Utility from load and operatin9 time data. The Utility may require certification by a doctor~ or osteopath licensed to practice medicine ~in the State of California that a particular device is necessary to sustain the user's life. Schedule ].602 Electric Rates GENERAL SERVICE APPLICABILITY This schedule is applicable to general commercial lighting and to all single phase of polyphase alternatinq current service, provided that all' polyphase service to any customer on the same premises shall be supplied through one meter. Service to each of two or more s.eparate areas, but not in the same building, and which do not overlap within the same premises may be individually metered; also shall apply where .one meter serves a combination commer~cial and residential establishment combined on polyphase. At the customer's option, single phase and polyphase service may be combined under this schedule. TERRITORY Within the corporate limits of the City.of Ukiah. Fuel Adjustment: A fuel cost adjustment is included in each .bill for' service. SPECIAL CONDITIONS a) Voltage: Service on this schedule will be supplied at the secondary voltage available. Where polyphase power is to be combined witll single phase, a 4 wire service will be supplied, either 120-240 volt or 120-208 volt, whichever is available. ' "CITY OF UKIAH Schedule ]602-DM Electric Rates GENERAL SERVICE-DEMAND METERED APPLICABILITY This schedule is applicable to alternating current lighting, and, at the customer's option, to alterna[ing current for heating, cooking and/or power (either single phase or polyphase), alone or combined with lighting, provided that in the case of polyphase power service, all alternating current used by the customer of the same premises is combined as provided in Special Condition (c) below; and provided further the entire load is measured through one meter, TERRI TORY Within the corporate limits of the City of Ukiah. SPECIAL CONDITIONS a) Maximum Demand: The maximum demand in any month will be the maximum average power taken during any 15-minute interval in a month. However, when the recorded monthly maximum demand has exceeded 400 kw for three consecutive months a 3Q-minute interval will be used thereafter until the maximum average'has fallen below 300 kw for 12 consecutive months, provided that in the cases where the use of energy is intermittent or subject to violent fluctuations, a 5 minute interval may be used. A thermal type of demand meter which does not reset after a definite time interval may be used. (Continued) - 1 - Schedule 1602-DM · Electric Rates General Service-Demand Metered Page 2 Special Conditions (Continued) b) Billing Demand: The billing demand to be used in computing charges under this schedule will be the mean of the actual maximum demand as determined under (a) for the current month and the hig[nest such demand occurring in the year ending with the current month. c) Voitage: Service on this schedule will be supplied at the secondary voltage available or, at the option of the customer, at the primary voltage available. Where secondary voltage is desired and polyphase power is combined with single phase, a 4 wire service will be supplied, either 120-240 volt or 120-208 volt, 'whichever is available': d) Primary Voltage Discount: When the customer owns all the transformers and delivery hereunder is made at the same voltage as that of the distribution line from which the serviCe is supplied, a discount of 4% of 11 KV or higher available line voltages and 3% for available line voltages from 2 KVto 10 KV will be allowed, provided, however, the City is not required to supply service at a particular line voltage where it has (or will install) ample facilities for supplying at another voltage equally or better suited to the customer's electrical requirements . The City retains, the right to change its line voltage at any time, after reasonable advance notice to any customer receiving a discount hereunder and affected by such change, and such customer then has the option to change his system so as to receive service at the new line voltage or to accept service (without voltage discount) through transformers to be supplied by the City. e) A customer desiring service under this schedule may be required to sign a contract agreeing to billing ander this schedule for at least twelve months from the date of contract. f) Service under this schedule is subject to City of Ukiah Customer Service Policies for Electric Service, and all other applicable Rules and Regulations which may be from time to time adopted by the City of Ukiah. All rates quoted under this schedule are subject to adjustment or reclassification under this or a different schedule at any time after reasonable notice to the customer whenever the City of Ukiah .deems such changes to be necessary. CITY OF UKIAH Schedule 1608-1,2,3 Electric Rates OUTDOOR LIGHTING SCHEDULE APPLICABILITY: Applicable for service to outdoor lighting installations on private property for incandescent filament or mercury vapor lamps, where the City usually owns and maintains the entire-system. Fuel Adjustment: A charge for fuel is included in each bill for service. Schedule 1. Steel Standards-City Owned and Maintained:- Where the customer installs the base, conduit, and wire to City specification, the City will provide and install the standard and maintain the entire system. Schedule 2. Wood Poles-City Owned and Maintained: Where a wood pole is installed to support the light. Service to lights on this schedule will normally be by overhead conductor. Where additional poles must be installed to support the service conductors, an additional charge of 50 cents per pole per month will be made. Schedule 3. Existing City Wood Poles-City Owned and Maintained: Where an existing City pole can be used to mount the lighting facilities. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: 1. Billing: Service rendered under these schedules will be billed monthly. 2. Lamp Servicing and Relocations: Upon receipt of notice from customer of failure of light to operate as scheduled, the City will, within a reasonable period of time,°make the necessary repairs. The City will, at customer's request, relocate existing outdoor lighting service equipment, provided customer reimburses City for the net expense to City incurred therewith. 3. Type of Service: The City will supply alternatin~ current, 60 cycle, single phase, at voltage specified by the City. Lamps shall be controlled to burn from dusk to dawn each night so as to give approximately 4100 hours of lighting service annually. -- ] --
