HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-12RESOLUTION NO. 80-12 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUNDS UKIAH HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY PARK PROJECT 5 6 7 8 9 WHEREAS, the Congress under Public Law 88-578 has authorized the establishment of a Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant-In-Aid Program, providing matching funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring lands and developing facilities for public outdoor recreation purposes; 10 ,i and 11 ~ ~ WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation is ]2 responsible for the administration of the program within the ]3 State, setting up necessary rules and procedures governing ]4 application by local agencies under the progr~n; and ]5 WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the State ]6 Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to ]7 certify by resolution the approval of applications and the ]8 i availability of local matching funds prior to submission of 19 said applications to the State; and 20 WHEREAS, Part V of said applications contains assurances 21 that the applicant must comply with; and 22 WHEREAS, the proposed Ukiah High School Community Park 23 project is consistent with the California Outdoor Recreation 24 !i Resources Plan; and 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 WHEREAS, the project must be compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby: 1) Approves the filing of an applicaticn for Land and Water Conservation Fund assistance; and -1- 2) Certifies that said agency has matching funds from the following source: Park Dedication Fees and Revenue Sharing. and can finance 100 percent of the project, half of which will 4 ~ be reimbursed, and 3) Certifies that the project is compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project; and 4) Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including but not limited to applications, agreements, 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 amendments, billing statements, and so on which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
