HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-15 1 9 I0 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 Ill 22 113 ~4 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 8]-]5 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH APPROVING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH UKIAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR PROMOTIONAL AND ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES FOR FISCAL 1980-81 WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah has for several years con- tracted with the Chamber of Commerce for community promotion activities, and WttEREAS, these activities have been of benefit to the City, and WHEREAS, a contract for fiscal 1980-81 has been proposed, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Agreement for Promotional Services attached hereto and made a part hereof is approved and the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to execute same on behalf of the City. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of August , 1980, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Riley, Feibusch, Snyder, Myers NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Hickey ATTEST: Vice-Mayor City Clerk l 21 AGREEMENT RETAINING GREATER UKIAH CHamBER OF COMMERCE FOR PROMOTIONAL & ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES FOR THE ~ ~ CITY'-OF.UKIAH 198.0-81 . THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into in duplicate by · and between the City of Ukiah, a municipal corporation, herein- after called "City': and the Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce, an association, hereinafter called "Chamber". W I T N E S S E T H: WHEREAS, Chamber is located in the City of Ukiah and is an association formed for the purpose of making known the virtues and advantages of the City of Ukiah fOr the general · purpose of attracting visitors, settlers or businesses to such area, and has experience and facilities for promotion and advertising work: .NOW, THEREFORE, the.parties.hereto agree as follows: 1' "The Chamber agrees to carry on'-a continuing program of .~ advertising and promotional activities designed to make known the virtues and advantages of the City of Ukiah. 2. 'The Chamber agrees to exhibit or advertise the current commercial, industrial, climatic, educational, recreation, cultural, and other resources and advantages of the City of Ukiah. 3. The Chamber agrees to perform such further and other ser- vices, as City,may.from time ~to ,tim~.require subject to the "~.'"'~.availability of'adequate funding 4. ci~y agrees~'~to make the following payments,,provide the following utilities and perform the following services: a) City hereby agrees to pay to Chamber the sum of -. .. ·· --1-- 4 5 6 7 9 10 11 12 ~3 14 15 16' 17 18 19 22 ~3 24 25 27 28 $25,000 to be paid one-half during December 1980, and one-half during April, 1981. b) City agrees to furnish, free of charge, electric energy to Chamber office at 495E East Perkins Street, Ukiah, California. Such electric energy shall be furnished free of charge, solely for the usual pur- poses of operating an office, and in no event shall · the kilowatt usage of such power exceed 19,000 kilowatts per year. 5. Chamber agrees in accepting from City the monies herein agreed to be paid, to use said monies only for those activities directly or primarily benefiting areas inside City. Chamber further agrees that such monies shall be used only for and in accordance with the proposed uses heretofore submitted by Chamber, to wit: 1. Promotional - Industrial/Commercial Development: Information and Assistance Statistical Info/Packets (includes postage & supplies) Industrial Development Committee $ 4,763 600 $ 1,500 2.
