RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF UKIAH ESTABLISHING CHARGES AND FEES AND
PROCEDURES FOR TREATMENT OF SEPTAGE AT
UKIAH WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
It is hereby resolved that the following fees, charges, and procedures
are adopted in compliance with Ordinance 768 regulating discharge to and the
treatment of septage by the Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Plant.
An annual permit fee of $50 shall be charged for each permit issued to
septage haulers utilizing the Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Plant facilities,
said fee to pay for costs of processing and issuance of the permit.
The following charges and fees are fixed, determined and shall be
required to be paid for the delivery and discharge of the cleanings of
domestic septic tanks into the Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Plant Receiving
Station facilities:
(a) For each load collected from a property located within the geographi-
cal limits of any sewage services agency tributary to the Ukiah Wastewater
Treatment Plant and delivered to the Receiving Station the charge is $15.00 plus
$0.01 per gallon. Such tributary sewage service agencies are: City of Ukiah
~8 and the Ukiah Valley Sanitation District.
~9 (b) For each load collected from a property located outside the geo-
~ graphical limits of the City of Ukiah and the Ukiah Valley Sanitation District
2] and delivered to the Receiving Station the charge of $30.00 plus $0.02 per

23 (c) Mixed loads including septic tank cleanings from both inside and
~ outside the geographical limits of cities and sewage service agencies tributary
25 to the Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Control Plant shall be charged at the highest
26 rate, that is, $30.00 plus $0.02 per gallon.
27 (d) Charges shall be determined on the actual number of gallons contained
2~ in the load for vehicles equipped with a suitable sight glass or gauge; and on

the total load capacity of the vehicle's storage facility for vehicles not
equipped with a suitable sight glass or gauge.
Pending completion of receiving facilities at the Treatment Plant, the
Director of Public Works is authorized to designate locations for receiving
septage within the collection and treatment system. All fees, charges, and
procedures shall apply for discharges so authorized as though delivered to the
plant site.
Fees and charges established by this Resolution shall become effective
November 1, 1981.
