2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UKIAH APPROVING THE GRANT FOR HISTORIC
3 PRESERVATION SURVEY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
4 TO SIGN HISTORIC SURVEY PROJECT AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, the Congress, under Public Law 89665, has authorized the

7 establishment of a National Historic Preservation Grants and Aid Program
providing matching funds to the State of California and it's political
8
subdivisions for Historic Preservation Survey Planning Development and
9
Acquisition Programs, and
10
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ukiah by Resolution No. 84-40
11
on January 18, 1984 applied for these funds through the State of California
12
Department of Parks and Recreation, and
13
WHEREAS, by letter of May 14, 1984 the City of Ukiah was awarded a

151! $15,000 matching grant for an Historic and Architectural Survey within the
16 corporate boundaries of the City pursuant to this application, and
WHEREAS, this project will be conducted from July 1, 1984 through June
17
18 30, 1985.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
19
Ukiah:

21 1. Approves the grants-in-aid as specified in the Historic Survey Project
Agreement and concurs with the stipulations provided in said agreement.

2. Pledges local City resources exceeding the $15,000 as funding match
23
24 required in the form of in-kind services through staff volunteer
efforts.
25
26 3. Authorizes the City Manager to sign the Historic Survey Project
27 Agreement and forward six copies of the executed agreement to the
28 State of California Department of Parks and Recreation.
