OF UKIAH AMENDING PERSONNEL POLICIES j

3WHEREAS, the Personnel Policies of the City of Ukiah provide for a
4i ; residency requirement; and
5 WHEREAS, this residency requirement does not address the granting of an
6 � extension of time in the event of economic or other conditions to the
II
detriment of the City and the employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Chapter XII, General Employment

.G Conditions, Section 4 Residency, shall be amended as follows:
10 "The City, through the City Manager, reserves the right to grant

11 an extension of time, up to one (l) year, to this requirement it
12 such grant is considered to be in the best interests of the City
i
13 i and such a grant would not deprive any City employee of benefits
14I as conferred by Memorandum of Understanding. Economic or other
151 conditions which make a e compliance impracticable or impossible may
16 be considered basis for petition for such grant, as distinguished
i
17 from conditions which affect the convenience or preference of the
18 employee or his/her family. No extension of time shall be granted
19 if to do so would adversely affect the employee's ability to
20 f I perform the job."
