RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF UKIAH REQUESTING CAL TRANS IMPLEMENTATION
1 OF BUSINESS ROUTE SIGNS ON U.S. 101 FREEWAY

WHEREAS, State Street, the main north-south arterial circulation
4
5 element in the City of Ukiah was at one time US 101, the major link j
6 between San Francisco and Northern California, and
7 WHEREAS, State Street constituted the main access to commercial
8 facilities within the City from both the north and south directions, and
WHEREAS, in 1966 the U.S. 101 Freeway was constructed, bypassing the

City with through traffic, and

11 WHEREAS, U.S. 101 business signs are available for similar situations
12 in other cities and have been provided to identify the businesses bypassed
13 by freeways, and
14 WHEREAS, the City will accept the costs associated with providing and
15 maintaining appropiate signing throughout the City,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council requests Cal
16
Trans to implement the business route signing for Ukiah on the US 101
17
18 Freeway for State Street, at both the north and south interchanges.
