HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-03 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 87-~ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH SUPPORTING JOINT STRATEGY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF HIGHWAY 101 WHEREAS, economic diversification demands that transportation serve different kinds of highway users, and Whereas, all those users are important to the development of the coastal counties in California, Oregon and Washington, and WHEREAS, these coastal counties are suffering economic deprivation, while others across the nation are enjoying economic prosperity, and WHEREAS, a $20 billion federal highway trust fund exists that could be used to solve these problems, THEREFORE, we join together in counties, cities, and ports to develop strategy that will press for the use of these trust fund highway dollars to develop modern transportation links that focus on Highway 101. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of July, 1986, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmember Schneiter, Shoemaker, Hickey, Kier, and Mayor Henderson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None cI?Yl CLERK /
