RESOLUTION NO. 87-52
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
ADOPTING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE
CITY OF UKIAH AND THE UKIAH MANAGEMENT UNIT
WHEREAS, the Employee/Employer Relations Officer has met and
conferred in good faith with representatives of the Ukiah Management Unit,
which represents positions in the attached Classification List, and
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding has been arrived at, and
WHEREAS, said Memorandum of Understanding has been presented to the
City Council for its consideration,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Memorandum of Understanding
is hereby adopted and the Employee/Employer Relations Officer is
authorized to enter into this agreement for the fiscal years, 1987-88 and
1988-89.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of June, 1987, by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Schneiter, Shoemaker, Hickey, Kier, and Mayor
Henderson

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
1987-89
This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into pursuant to the
Meyers-Millias-Brown Act (California Government Code Section 3500 et. seq.)
and applicable ordinances and resolutions of the City of Ukiah between the
City of Ukiah (hereinafter City) and the Ukiah Management Unit (hereinafter
Unit). As a result of meet and confer sessions, the City and Unit have agreed
to the following understandings:
The term of this agreement shall be two years, effective June 28, 1987
through June 30, 1989.
First Year
1. Salary
Effective June 28, 1987, there shall be a 4% increase to the Management
base rate salary schedule (Attachment A). An additional 1% of each
represented employee's monthly salary shall be applied either towards an
approved deferred compensation account or towards the purchase of savings
bonds at the option of the employee. (The 7½% APC is now included in the
Police Captain's base salary on the Management Salary Schedule and is
therefore a part of salary.)
2. Administrative Leave
Management employees shall receive an additional five (5) days of
Administrative Leave annually credited in full on July 1st of each year.
3. Health and Fitness Incentive Pro~ram
The City Manager shall establish the rules and regulations for
implementation of a Health and Fitness Incentive Program for the
Management Unit. Compensation to be paid as follows:
a. $10.00 per month for not using tobacco.
b. $10.00 per month for maintaining weight control within medical
limits.
c. $I0.00 per month for participating in a regular exercise program,
including walking, running, bicycling, swimming, an aerobics class,
or other non-competitive exercise program as approved by the City
Manager.
