RESOLUTION NO. 87-49
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH ADOPTING ELECTRIC AND WATER
TURN-ON PROCEEDURES
WHEREAS, Staff has studied the matter of Electric and Water turn-ons, and
WHEREAS, it is possible for the majority of customers to arrange to have
turn-ons done during regular hours, and
WHEREAS, the existing policy encourages after hour turn-ons at a high cost to
the City, and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide the after hour turn-on service to
customers-Who requeSt same provided they pay the actual cost thereof,
presently estimated at $75.00, and
WHEREAS, THE City Council does not want the general rate payer subsidizing
the few who call for after hours turn-on service.
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved that it is the policy of the City Council of
the City of Ukiah to authorize the collection of an after hour turn-on charge
of $75.00 and regulate the acceptance of turn-on to limit the need for after
hour turn-ons as much as possible. To be effective June 1, 1987 at 8:00 A.M.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
ADOPTING AFTER HOURS ELECTRIC AND WATER TURN-ON PROCEDURES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH will hold a
public hearing on May 20, 1987, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be
heard, in the Public Meeting Room of the Grace Hudson Museum, 431 South Main
Street, to consider a After Hours Service Policy for Electric and Water
turn-ohs.
This is proposed to encourage customers to make arrangements for turn-ons
during regular working hours with a resultant savings to City customers.
After hours turn-ons will still be available but at a cost of service.
Copies of the proposed Resolution are published herein. Effective date is
proposed to begin June 1, 1987. A copy of the City Manager's report and
recommendation is on file with the City Clerk and is available for review by
interested persons.
