RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
INTENDING TO MODIFY CABLE T.V.
TECHNICAL STANDARDS FOR KGO CHANNEL 7
WHEREAS, Century Cable (hereafter, "franchisee") has requested an
addition to Section 5d of Resolution No. 86-18, establishing technical
standards for the reception of television signals, which would provide as
follows:
"Due to the distance, weather, and terrain problems associated
with receiving KGO-Channel 7 San Francisco, the Franchisor's
technical standards listed in "Exhibit A" will be waived for
that channel. Degraded picture quality on KGO Channel 7 will
not constitute failure of service", and
WHEREAS, the City Council has initially determined that said change
is technologically and economically feasible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council intends to adopt the above described addition to
Resolution No. 86-18;
2. A hearing is hereby scheduled for February 1, 1989 at 7:00 p.m. or as
soon thereafter as the matter can be heard at the City Council
Chambers, Ukiah Civic Center, 300 Seminary Avenue, at which time any
persons having any interest in the proposed change to the technical
standards may appear and be heard;
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this resolution of
intention in the Ukiah Daily Journal at least ten (10) days prior to
the scheduled hearing;

4. Unless franchisee waives such notice, the City Clerk is directed to
mail a copy of this resolution to the franchisee fifteen (15) days
prior to the hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at the regular City Council. meeting of
January 18, 1989 , 1989, by the following roll call vote.
AYES: Councilmembers Wattenburger, Shoemaker, Schneiter, and Hickey.
NOES: Mayor Henderson.
