RESOLUTION NO. 89-25
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 89-17 AND CREATING AD-HOC
COMMITTEE FOR REVIEW OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION ORDINANCES
WHEREAS, there is a substantial number of historical and
architectural resources within the City of Ukiah, and
WHEREAS, more than two hundred of these resource properties are
identified and catalogued in the Architectural and Historical Resources
Inventory Report completed in 1985, and
WHEREAS, historical preservation is a goal of the Main Street Program
and of the City of Ukiah as noted in its General Plan, and
WHEREAS, implementation tools in the forms of ordinances defining the
parameters within which historical preservation shall occur within the
City of Ukiah may be necessary, and
WHEREAS, an Ad-Hoc committee is the best process to review
alternatives and provide recommendations regarding these ordinances.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that:
1) Resolution No. 89-17 is rescinded,
2) The Ad-Hoc Historical Preservation Review Committee is hereby
established,
3) The Committee shall consist of the following five residents of
the City of Ukiah:
1. Suzanne Abel-Vidor
2. Ben Foster
3. Judy Pruden
4. Granville Pool
5. Shari Brown

4) The Ad-Hoc Committee shall commence activities in January, 1989
and shall complete its Ordinance review and recommendations by
May 31, 1989,
5) The Community Development Department shall provide Staff support
to the Ad-Hoc Committee,
6) The Committee shall make monthly status reports to and maintain
communications with the Planning Commission,
7) The Committee is charged with research, review and
recommendations for adoption of Ordinances which are appropriate
for preservation of historical and architectural resources
within the City of Ukiah.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18 day of 0anuary , 1989, by the
following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Wattenburger, Shoemaker, Schneiter, Hickey, and
Mayor Henderson.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
