HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-49 1 5 6 ? 9 10 11 1:/ 13 14 15 16 17 19 20 21 23 25 9.6 27 RESOLUTION NO. 90-49 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH ADJUSTING FEES AND CHANGES AT THE UKIAH MUNICIPAL SOLID ~ASTE SITE WHEREAS, it is the City Council's intent to promote recycling and to extend the life of the City landfill, and WHEREAS, the City budget anticipates sufficient revenue from the disposal site to make the operation self-supporting and to build reserves for closure and post-closure mainten~nnce, and WHEREAS, in order to meet budgeted goals and state mandated objectives, a rate adjustment is necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following fees and charges are hereby established for materials delivered to the Solid Waste Site. A. Minimum gate fee ....................... $ 7.50 B. Material delivered in cc~pacted form and in a vehicle having an operating compaction device and enclosed body will be charged according to the rated capacity of the body ................................... $18.75 per cubic yard C. Material delivered in loose uncompacted state ................................. $ 7.50 per cubic yard D. Material in the opinion of the responsible city employee that has been compacted and transferred to another vehicle for the purpose of avoiding the compacted material charge shall be charged at the rate of ....... $18.75 per cubic yard E. Tires . . Automobile, pickup, and motorcycle tires (16" wheel size or less) in lots of 5 or less ...... $ 3.00 per tire Truck tires (greater than 16" wheel size) in lots of 5 or less ................................. $ 10.00 per tire 3. Heavy equipment tires ( farm, construction, or industrial equi~x~nt) ................... $50.00 per tire 4. Bulk delivery of tires (6 or more) automobile, pickup and motorcycle ......................... $25.00 per yard 5. Bulk delivery of sliced, shredded, or split tires .................................. $25.00 per yard G. Major appliances Refrigerators, Freezers ................. $15.00 each Washers (clothes or dishes) ............. $15.00 each Dryers, Clothes ......................... $15.00 each Kitchen Ranges .......................... $15.00 each Water Heaters ........................... $15.00 each H. City of Ukiah Inter-Departmental Rates Loose loads ....................... $ 3.75 per cubic yard I. City of Ukiah Franchised Refuse Collector-inside City accounts only Loose loads ....................... $ 3.75 per cubic yard ~cted loads ................... $ 9.50 per cubic yard Tires, as set forth in Section F All volumes will be computed and charged in 1/2 cubic yard incremsnts. 1 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 19. 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Fees charged under this Resolution are subject to appeal by the payor to the City Manager and City Council on the condition that the payor inmediately register his protest with the Disposal Site Gateperson. Fees thus paid shall be received under protest and shall be held pending a decision on the merit of the appeal. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these rates shall be effective July 1, 1990. PASSES AND ADOPTED this 6th day of June, 1990 by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Shoemaker, Schneiter, Hickey, and Mayor Henderson. NOES: Councilmsmber Wattenburger.
