RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UKIAH AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AGREE-
MENT WITH SOLID WASTE SYSTEMS, INC. FOR
CURBSIDE RECYCLING.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ukiah has
solicited proposals for a curbside recycling franchise agreement
with the City of Ukiah; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to award a
franchise agreement to Solid Waste Systems, Inc. to establish
curbside recycling within the City of Ukiah; and
WHEREAS, a curbside recycling program should significantly
reduce the amount of solid waste buried in the City's solid waste
disposal site and thereby prolong the useful life of the City's
landfill;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager is
authorized to sign the Contract For The Collection And Recycling
of Recyclable Materials From Within The City Of Ukiah which is
attached to this resolution as Exhibit A and the City Council ap-
proves and accepts the terms of said agreement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of February, 1990, at a
regular meeting of the Ukiah City Council by the following roll
call vote:
AYES: Hickey, Schneider, Shoemaker, Henderson
NOES: Wattenburger
