RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
SUPPORTING THE UKIAH UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
FOR PROPOSITION A ON THE JUNE BALLOT
WHEREAS, the voters of the Ukiah Unified School District adopted
Proposition B in 1974, to fund the construction of the Ukiah High School;
and
WHEREAS, the voters in approving this tax, adoped a tax in which the
revenues are restricted to the Ukiah High School; and
WHEREAS, the Ukiah Unified School District has identified a need to
expand the number of school facilities, as well as to reconstruct and/or
modernize existing school facilities to meet anticipated growth in school
population; and
WHEREAS, the Ukiah Unified School District is submitting a June
ballot measure to the voters on June 3, 1991 that, if adopted, will allow
the District to appropriate tax monies from existing Proposition B
revenues to utilize in the construction of new school facilities and/or
modernization of existing Ukiah school facilities; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Ukiah City Council does
hereby endorse Proposition A on the June ballot, and urges the citizens
of Ukiah to vote yes on this important ballot measure.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of May, 1991 by the following roll
call vote;
AYES: Councilmember McMichael, Shoemaker, Schneiter and Mayor Henderson
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Wattenburger
ABSTAIN: None
