MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
City or County
Project Review Program
Sonoma State University for the Northwest Information Center (hereafter referred to as "NWIC") of the
California Historical Resources Information System agrees to assist the City of Ukiah Planning/Community
Development Department thereafter referred to as "Agency") in fulfilling part of -its legislated historical
resources obligations by reviewing applications for projects submitted to their office. Review for possible
historical resources, however, will include only those resources in the NWIC's database on the date of the
research and should not be considered comprehensive.
The Project Review will present a summary of current historical resource information on file at this
office for the project area; provide an evaluation of potential for historical resource; and give project-
specific next-step recommendations.
Archaeological resources are nonrenewable and often easily damaged. In order to prevent destruction,
vandalism, and artifact hunting, and to protect landowners from trespass by people seeking access to
archaeological sites, the Agency agrees to keep the locations of archaeological resources confidential by
insuring that they will not be included in reports or files available to the general public. In addition, the Agency
agrees that access by Agency personnel to this information should be on a need-to-know basis.
This agreement will be in effect until December 31, 2010. Project will be reviewed at the rate of $75.00
each and billed on a monthly basis. Not included under this MOA are projects originated by the Agency that
require permit or funding from federal agencies. Records Searches conducted for federally funded or permitted
projects will be charged at the current staff processing records search hourly rate.
