AUDIENCE COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a. Discussion and Direction Concerning the Process and Initial Tasks for the Preparation of a Downtown Specific Plan The Subcommittee discussed the draft study area and the issues associated with this area. A discussion ensued around issues if a larger or smaller area were selected. There was preliminary agreement that the draft area presented on the air photograph display was appropriate but it would be discussed again at the next meeting with a full Committee. Property owner, business owner, and public participation was discussed and it was recommended that now a draft study area had been se%cted, the Committee reach out to affected property and business owners. Consensus was reached to mail an informational notice to property owners within the study area, as well as within the surrounding area, and downtown about the project. It was suggested that Staff work with the Main Street Program and Chamber of Commerce to begin a dialog with the business community about the project: There was discussion about the relationship between the emerging Downtown/Perkins Street Corridor Form Based Code and the Perkins Street Courthouse Specific Plan project. The draft Purpose Statement and draft Goals for the project were shared and discussed. Consensus was reached to continue to discuss the Purpose and Goals at the next meeting. Additional items discussed for the next meeting included: Project Timeline, RDA consultant participation, and project costs. 4. ADJOURNMENT
