AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH AMENDING DIVISION 7,
CHAPTER 1, ARTICLE 1 OF THE UKIAH CITY
CODE (CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
IN PUBLIC)
The City Council of the City of Ukiah does ORDAIN as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 6000 is amended to read as follows:
Section 6000. Consumption of Intoxicating Beverage.
No person shall drink any beer, wine or other intoxi-
cating beverage on any street, sidewalk, alley, highway,
or public parking lot. This section shall not be deemed
to make punishable any act or acts which are prohibited
by any law of the State of California.
Definition. For the purposes of this ordinance, the
term "public parking lot" shall include city-owned
parking lots, parking lots provided in shopping centers,
and such other parking lots which may exist or be here-
after designed and constructed for use of the public.
SECTION 2. Section 6001 is amended to read as follows:
Section 6001. Intoxication in Public Prohibited
It shall be unlawful for any person to be in a drunken
or intoxicated condition or under the influence of
intoxicating liquor or narcotic drugs within the
corporate city limits of the City of Ukiah:
a) While in or upon any street, thoroughfare,
alley, sidewalk, public grounds, public places,
places accessible to the public or place open or
exposed to the public view.
b) In, on or about any automobile, motorcycle, motor
vehicle, street car, railroad car, or other vehicle.
SECTION 3. Section 6002 is added to read as follows:
Section 6002. Penalty for Violation
Any violation of this article shall be deemed a mis-
demeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $300 or

by imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or by both such
fine or imprisonment.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published as required by law
in a newspaper of general circulation published in the
City of Ukiah.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days
after its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of April, 1980, by the
following roll call vote:
