ORDINANCE NO. 726
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH ADDING SECTION 9166 TO
CHAPTER 2, DIVISION 9 - EXEMPTIONS
FROM OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS
The City Council of the City of Ukiah does Ordain as follows:
Section 1. Section 9166 is hereby added to Chapter 2 of Division 9 to
read as follows:
Section 9166 - Exemptions from Off-Street Parking Requirements
a) All existing commercial structures as of January 1, 1979
within the area defined as the City of Ukiah Parking
District No. 1, shall be exempt from the required off-
street parking requirements prescribed in Section 9165.
This exemption is applicable to transition of uses,
property or business sales or expansion into existing
structure space. New commercial construction, including
demolition, reconstruction, and structural additions, and
existing or new residential uses within said District are
not exempt. The exemptions noted in this section do not
require variance approval by the Planning Commission or
the City Council.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published as required by law in a
newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ukiah.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after its
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of April, 1979 by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmember Hickey, Myers, Simpson, Brannon and Mayor Snyder
